Filtration

Filtration is commonly used for production of drinking water from groundwater sources. The required drinking water quality is obtained in a pressure filter with individually composed layers of filter media for example for neutralization of aggressive carbon dioxide or for collection of iron, manganese, ammonium, and mechanical impurities.

Further, filtration can also be used at the start of a water treatment plant as pretreatment unit or at the end of a treatment plant. Examples: circulation water, water recovery, boiler water, cooling water, wastewater and recarbonation.
