Ultra-pure water for steam turbine application

The customer is a waste-to-energy plant that uses ultrapure water as high-pressure boiler feedwater.

The water treatment solution from Silhorko-Eurowater consists of several demineralization units based on ion exchange technology. This ensures a reliable and safe operation even under inconsistent raw water conditions.

The capacity is 8 m³/h and consists of a system based on the UPCORE™ technology, that ensures low conductivity, low chemical consumption and a constant, low pressure loss.

To reduce the chemical consumption even further, a CO2 degasser is placed between cation and anion exchangers as an integral part of the demineralization unit.

After the UPCORE™ units, the water is polished in a common mixed bed unit, leaving the demineralized water with a final quality of under 0.2 µS/cm.
