Optimal water treatment for district heating plant in Denmark

The Danish district heating company in Skanderborg-Hørning is a consumer owned cooperative society. It supplies district heating for 9.500 citizens and consists of a 300-km distribution system, 6 district heating stations and 5 pumping stations.

SILHORKO-EUROWATER has delivered a complete water treatment plant for make-up water for the district heating plant. Optimal water for make-up and circuit is demineralized, deoxidated, free from mechanical impurities and pH regulated. By removing salts and oxygen, you avoid corrosion in the district heating piping.

The city water is softened by ion exchange and demineralized through reverse osmosis in a compact unit. The oxygen is then removed through membrane degassing. The membrane degasser is a chemical free and space saving solution.
