EUROWATER now offers thermal deaerator with dome

Thermal deaerator with dome is now part of the product programme offered by EUROWATER. It is designed and manufactured in-house and based on 45 years of experience as a manufacturer of thermal deaerators and hands-on experience from own feedwater treatment projects.

Thermal deaerators are commonly used to remove dissolved gases in feedwater for steam-generating boilers. The harm full gasses promoting corrosion are oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Dissolved oxygen in feedwater will cause serious corrosion damage in a boiler by attacking the walls and piping made of steel forming metal oxides, like rust. Dissolved carbon dioxide reacts with condensate forming carbonic acid that may cause further corrosion in the condensate system.

The size of a thermal deaerator depends on the boiler’s steam rating and the requirements for oxygen content. If the oxygen content is required to be less than 20 ppb, the thermal deaerator must be fitted with a dome and the make-up water must have a minimum process time of ½ hour in the deaerator.

EUROWATER is now able to supply a complete range of thermal deaerators:

  • With dome
The spray & tray-type (also called the cascade-type) includes a vertical dome deaeration section mounted on top of a horizontal cylindrical vessel which serves as the deaerated boiler feedwater storage tank.
  • Without dome
The spray-type consists of a horizontal cylindrical vessel which serves as both the deaeration section, and a storage tank for boiler feedwater.

Both types are built with cylindrical vessel made of steel with end-caps for higher pressure tolerance and available in standard modules up to 40 m3/h.
