Make-up water for high-pressure steam boiler 2 x 30 m³/h

The water source is a river with high salt content, especially chlorides. The level of organics in the raw water varies considerably during the year. Pre-treatment has been designed to secure an acceptable water quality as inlet water for the demineralization plant. In the RO units, fouling resistant membranes have been applied in order to avoid blockage with organics, and more efficient CIP with warm water has been used as well.

After the membrane units, the water treatment uses ion-exchange UPCORE technology. Each resin tank has two chambers; one for weak resin and one for strong resin. Such a design makes treatment very economical from a chemical consumption point of view. The resin from each tank is discharged to an external tank for alkaline brine cleaning.

Final polishing of the water is done in two mixed bed units.
The water is used for high-pressure boiler feed as well as for district heating make-up. During plant erection the need for demineralized water was covered by a mobile, containerized water treatment plant from EUROWATER, the rental period was one year.
