Cooling water for hyperscale data centers

EUROWATER has provided water treatment plants for two of STACK's data centers located in Oslo, Norway.

The data centers use adiabatic coolers that require high-quality demineralized water. The water treatment system is designed to handle variations in raw water quality as the system utilize rainwater collected from the building rooftops, supplemented with city water when needed.

Each data center is equipped with a duplicate water treatment system. This redundancy ensures a seamless 100% backup capability, eliminating the risk of downtime and maintaining reliable functionality at all times.

The utilization of the water treatment systems spans from the months of May through October. During the remaining months of the year, naturally cold air from outside, together with a snow melt system is used for cooling. EUROWATER service team handles the annual startup in spring and the shutdown process in the fall, including preservation of the RO system to ensure a trouble-free operation.
