Make-up water for a 120 MW steam turbine at Moerdijk, Holland

Attero's waste-to-energy plant in Moerdijk is one of the most energy efficient plants in the Netherlands because of the production of high pressure steam. SILHORKO-EUROWATER has supplied make-up water treatment plant to a new 120 megawatt steam turbine generator.

Due to insufficient space, the new water treatment equipment was delivered in containers (3 x WTP-C 20') for outdoor installation. Therefore, the containers are equipped with many convenient features such as door-in-door, insulation, air condition, and emergency shower. The water treatment is complete with all internal piping and wiring factory-built. Factory Acceptance testing (FAT) has been performed before delivery by main contractor.

The solution consists of three independent lines, each with a capacity of 12 m³/h, as well as two storage tanks, and a mobile CIP unit. The raw water is river water that has been properly treated before used as inlet water to the containers. Each container consists of the following steps: 1) Antiscalant dosing, 2) Membrane filtration in double-pass reverse osmosis unit, 3) Removal of CO2 by membrane degassing unit, 4) Polishing in EDI unit, and 5) Central PLC control cabinet.
