Ultrapure water


Ultrapure water has a very low conductivity (0.06-0.2 µS/cm), since the so-called polishing or residual desalination of the water removes any remaining salts or minerals from the water. This can be achieved by two methods, electrodeionization or with mixed-bed systems. The production of ultrapure water is a complex process in which all steps of water treatment are present: filtration, softening and demineralization.

Ultrapure water is used particularly in the manufacture of medicines, in hospitals, in medical research and laboratories, in the manufacture of computer chips and as boiler feedwater.
